Misinformation Spread by Media

  • Misconception 1 - The US has the most cases of Covid-19 because we test the most
This is incorrect, the US has a lot of cases because the US was slow to
respond to the outbrakesand, was to slow to increase testing, and to slow
to initiate many containment tools. Though we have implemented some new
containment tools not every state has done a good job. States like California
and Texas have been doing terribly gaining thousands of cases a day, while states
like West Virgina and Maine have been having less than a hundred cases a day.

  • Mask don't help stop the spread of Covid-19
This can't be farther from the truth both the Center for Disease Control
and the World Health Organization recommend wearing at least cloth masks
in public spaces to reduce the spread of Covid-19. Many people alaso think
mask ristrict your breathing is also untrue, there has been no proof that
shows masks restrict your oxygen intake.

  • The corona virus is just the flu it isn't that bad
Though it is true that corona virus and the flu share many symptoms they
are very different and should not be treated the same way. With the flu
most people exibit symptoms 1-4 days after infection while with coronavirus
people can show symptoms as late as two weeks after infection. This doesn't
sound like much, but the longer someone is asymptomatic the more people
they might accidentally infect. The biggest differeence between the flu and
coronavirus is that we have developed more ways to fight the flu than we
    have for coronavirus.
